This 10-day Foundation Yoga program includes prayers, pranayama, traditional hatha yoga asana, Yoga in the Bhagavad Gita / Vedic Philosophy, Vedic Chanting, Mediation and Yoga Nidra. Each day concludes with Ganga Havan and Aarti at sunset and meditation / Yoga Nidra after dinner. The focus of the yoga / Vedic philosophy is determined by the activities of the month.

This 4 week (150 hours) Intensive Yoga Course includes prayers, Pranayama, Traditional general and advance Hatha yoga asana, Yoga in the Bhagavad Gita / Patanjali Yoga Sutras, Vedic Chanting, Yoga Nidra and other meditation techniques. Each day concludes with Ganga Havan and Aarti at sunset and meditation / Yoga Nidra after dinner.
Pre-requisite: 1 year of regular yoga practice; and a desire to live the principles of yoga.
Yoga Teacher Training with Yoga Therapy

Yogacharyas: Sadhvi Abha Saraswati [Mataji] & Indu
This 5 week Parmarth Yoga Program is for yoga teachers-in-training, yoga teachers and individuals living with diabetes and/or stress. This 200 hour program includes Pranayama, traditional general and advanced Hatha asana; Yoga in the Bhagavad Gita/Patanjali Yoga Sutras; Ayurvedic body types, Yoga therapy for diabetes and stress; teaching techniques, Vedic Chanting, Yoga Nidra and other meditation techniques. Each day concludes with Ganga Havan and Aarti at sunset and meditation/Yoga Nidra after dinner. There is a 2 week practicum which prospective yoga instructors are expected to complete.
Pre-requisite for YTTC: 2 years of regular yoga practice; and a desire to live and share/teach the principles of yoga.

This 10 day program includes prayers, pranayama, traditional hatha yoga asana, Vedic chanting, and meditation with emphasis on yoga philosophy from the Bhagavad Gita and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Each day concludes with Ganga Havan and Aarti at sunset and meditation / Yoga Nidra after dinner.
Pre-requisite for YTTC: 2 years of regular yoga practice; and a desire to live and share/teach the principles of yoga.
Please note that there will be no classes on Guru Purnima and August 15, India Independence Day
- Classes begin early morning on the first day of the course. Please come to the Ashram by 4pm the day before classes begin.
- Orientation for the courses is held immediately after the Ganga Aarti in the reception area the day prior to the beginning of the course.
- Saturdays: morning yoga class will be offered
- Sundays: no classes
- To respect and maintain the traditional nature of the ashram, we request that attire be modest. Please no shorts, sleeveless tops, transparent clothing or otherwise revealing attire.

Yoga is a way of life, an integrated system of education for the body, mind and inner spirit. Every day at Parmarth Niketan there are yoga and meditation classes. These include hatha yoga, pranayama, meditation as well as classes on the Bhagavadgita, Patañjali's Yoga Sutras and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. The medium of the classes is English. For the benefit of the seekers of Yogic discipline we offer various long and short-term certificate courses. People can come for one day, one week or one month to immerse themselves in the great ancient healing wisdom of Yoga. While learning in the classrooms, the students will have an opportunity to experience and enjoy Ashram Life as well as hiking and trekking in the valleys of Himalayas. They will have ample exposure to the teachings of visiting saints and scholars at Parmarth Niketan.

Sadhvi Abha Saraswati (Mataji) is a disciple of H.H. Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji and is director of Parmarth's Gurukul. Sadhvi Abha Saraswati has been an avid yoga practitioner since the age of 25, when – through yoga — she cured herself of a terminal kidney ailment called nephritis. Since then she has delved more and more deeply into various forms of yoga and has become not only a practitioner, but also a teacher. Sadhvi Abhaji teaches Yoga Nidra and Nada Yoga (meditation on sound). |

Karin O'Bannon. Previously the Senior Teacher of the Iyengar Yoga Institute of Los Angeles, and a certified Senior Intermediate Level 3 Iyengar Yoga Instructor (one of the highest levels), Karin is residing full time at Parmarth, and offering daily Hatha Yoga classes as well as periodic special courses and workshops. |
